Isaac Wallin

Mental Health Counselor – CMHC

Isaac grew up in Enterprise, Utah, a small town in Southern Utah. Isaac is a sports fanatic and played Basketball, Football, and ran track in high school. He has also picked up golf, pickleball, cornhole, and slow pitch softball as other sports he loves to spend time in. After high school, Isaac spent 2 years in Ghana, Africa where he was able to really get to know the people and culture on a personal level. He learned so much from the people there, including their example of humility, gratitude, compassion, and genuine kindness and acceptance. He then went on to go to college at Dixie State (Utah Tech) University and absolutely loved the red rocks, sun, and outdoors of Southern Utah. A door opened up in Fillmore, Utah to pursue a career in School Counseling at the middle school in Fillmore, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sandstone Psychology’s offices in Fillmore and Nephi. He has had the opportunity to help coach sports with high school basketball and football teams. If Isaac is not coaching or playing sports, you can find him doing DIY construction projects, riding ATV’s, or using his Traeger. Isaac loves building connections with people and providing positivity any chance he gets.

Education and Work Experience

Isaac obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies at Utah Tech University. He then went on to earn a dual Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Over the years, Isaac has been an aide for students in special education, assistant high school coach, a middle school counselor and a clinical mental health counselor.

Therapy Approach

At the core of my therapeutic approach is a commitment to creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore and process their experiences and emotions. I believe there is inherent value in each individual, regardless of their struggles or challenges. I prioritize building a trusting and compassionate therapeutic relationship. This relationship serves as a foundation for healing and growth.

My aim is to support and help clients in navigating the many hard and unique challenges of life so that they can start to feel better and feel more like their true authentic self. For individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, heartbreak, loneliness, grief, trauma, thoughts of low self-worth, or navigating personal crises or life changes, I use a client centered approach to therapy, while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
